Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 and professionally referred to by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, the mixtape Five Finger Discount. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self released single Bound. The 21st of July, 2015 was the day Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes on the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. The news was released on December 8 that she was signed to Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video followed by a music video in September. Her second single, Grampa on November 9. In November 13, she released two more singles called No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video was released on 20 February 2019 to go along with the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. As a support act she performed in concert with 6LACK in December of 2018 for their From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
