Aurora
Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian song writer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and press. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) that were widely appreciated. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway with her voice, has given her the track a little more attention. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to do music just for fun or to aid in development but instead, she was encouraged to take it seriously. She started writing lyrics of her own. Her inspirations include famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her love of Bjork's style. After her mother said that the songs she composed might not be famous for her, rather to help individuals to recognize their own value and impact to the world, she began playing them on stage. She started playing piano when she was only six and was writing her first song by the time she was nine. The family did not be aware of this until she turned fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. As she says, she just enjoys writing songs. For her, music is the only method of feeling anything.
